  26. What basically happened is that the IRQ is right, but the memory address is 
  27. for COM4, not COM2 (COM2 and COM4 use the same IRQ by default, but different
  28. memory addresses).  Have you disabled COM2 on your I/O board or motherboard?
  29. (This can cause conflicts with internal modems if you HAVE NOT disabled the
  30. second serial port.)  Also, since it works OK in WinFax, consider that WinFax may not
  31. have "let go" of the COM port (especially if WinFax is also the default "printer"; this
  32. also happens under Windows 95 with WFP 7; AND it tended to grab the printer
  33. port from applications (I nearly ended up faxing tax returns instead of printing them, even
  34. though WFP was NOT the default printer!)).  That is my ONLY complaint with WFP 7, but it's
  35. a biggie.  Having to reselect your printer each time you want to print hardcopies
  36. is a real pain.
