- What basically happened is that the IRQ is right, but the memory address is
- for COM4, not COM2 (COM2 and COM4 use the same IRQ by default, but different
- memory addresses). Have you disabled COM2 on your I/O board or motherboard?
- (This can cause conflicts with internal modems if you HAVE NOT disabled the
- second serial port.) Also, since it works OK in WinFax, consider that WinFax may not
- have "let go" of the COM port (especially if WinFax is also the default "printer"; this
- also happens under Windows 95 with WFP 7; AND it tended to grab the printer
- port from applications (I nearly ended up faxing tax returns instead of printing them, even
- though WFP was NOT the default printer!)). That is my ONLY complaint with WFP 7, but it's
- a biggie. Having to reselect your printer each time you want to print hardcopies
- is a real pain.
